Early 18th Century timpani

These timpani are believed to date from around 1720.  At only 18″ & 19″ in diameter they are only able to play in D & A (at A=415).

I have separate heads and hoops for some occasions but I usually have them set up as you see here with heads lapped directly onto the counterhoop.
